Lumbar Spinal Stenosis (LSS)

LSS is a degenerative condition of the lumbar spine. With age, the discs between the bones that make up the spine wear down, causing the spinal canal to narrow. In turn, this puts pressure on the lower back. The pressure can lead to the pain in the legs, groin, and buttock.

Superion – Indirect Decompression System (IDS)

Typically LSS is treated with spinal surgery. But spinal surgery comes with risks such as infection and a long recovery period. A new treatment for LSS has just been approved by the FDA. This minimally invasive treatment from Vertiflex Spine, is called Superion – Indirect Decompression System (IDS). This system acts as an extension blocker, which opens the spinal canal and relieves the pressure on the lower back.

The procedure, validated by four years of clinical data, requires just a nickel-sized incision, local anesthesia, and minimal operating time.

Talk to your provider, or visit www.vertiflexspine.com if you are interested in this option for the treatment of LSS.
